TEAM GOALS:
1.) To insure that each player and his parents realize how vitally important school grades are, and how these grades will affect a hockey career.
2.) To have every player improve his previous school grades, striving to reach his fullest potential.
3.) To place every eligible player in a college that suits both his academic and hockey ability levels (Initative must be taken by each player and his parents).
4.) To prepare each player for his college career:
a.)Teach each player responsibility.
b.)Teach each player self-discipline and how important it is for success
in today's society.
c.)Simulate the type of hockey and academic schedule that lies ahead in
the collegiate hockey environment.
5.) To give each player the opportunity to develop to his fullest potential, so he
may advance in this sport as far as his school grades, talent, and desire allow
him.
6.) For each player who is academically eligible and healthy to play in at least 50%
of the teams games through the end of the regular season.
7.) For the team to qualify for the league playoffs.
8.) For the team to make an excellent impression in all league games and
tournaments in which we participate.
9.) For each player and his parents to develop a better understanding of the game
in order to enhance their enjoyment and personal satisfaction.
10.) To insure that the parents realize that their attitude toward their son's hockey
and their willingness to sacrifice both time and money will have a direct impact
on their son's development as a hockey player, as a student, and upon the
success of this team.
11.) To have fun doing all of the above.
“BUFFALO JR SABRES " HOCKEY PROGRAM -
"A MUTUAL MAJOR COMMITMENT”
JR SABRES WILL PROVIDE:
- Between 50 and 60 highly competitive league, tournament, and exhibition games
- About five 1 – ½ hour practice sessions per week beginning about August 15 thru about September 15
- Three 1 – ½ hour practice sessions per week beginning about September 15 thru about October 1
- Two 1 – ½ hour practice sessions per week beginning in October, and beyond
- Extensive scouting by U.S. Colleges, NHL, USHL (USA Hockey Tier I Jr A) and Major Junior A (Canadian) from all over North America
- No cut, no trade commitment for the entire season (unless player requests same)
- First class transportation and hotel accommodations paid by the team and it's advertisers
- Local room and board for the entire school year for out of area players
- General Manager controls the franchise which ensures stability and security
- Use of equipment bag, game jerseys, and practice jerseys
- Game socks
- Christmas holiday break
- Rigorous academic monitoring
EACH PLAYER WILL PROVIDE:
-A financial commitment of $1500.00 plus $25 for each game you dress during the Pre-Season and Regular Season and $30.00 for each game you dress in post season
- Hockey Sticks, Skates, and personal protection equipment including full face mask.
- $100.00 per week room and board, if needed (per NCAA rules)
- Meal money while on the road.
- Players will only play on this Hockey Club during the 2007-2008 playing season.
